PLACES AROUND CHAMBA
Lakshmi Narayan Temple – To the north of the palace, there is a group of 6 stone Sikhara temples arranged in a row from north to south. 3 of these temples are dedicated to Vishnu and 3 to Shiva.
Chaugan – At the heart of Chamba is the Chaugan, a sprawling grassy concourse, also serving as a promenade, which is predictably enough, the hub of much of the activity in town.
Bhuri Singh Museum – This museum was named after Raja Bhuri Singh, and showcases intriguing relics of Chamba’s past, which include murals, paintings, stone carvings, and copper plates.
Champawati Temple – Close to the royal palace, there is a stone Sikhara temple dedicated to Goddess Champavati. Tradition holds that the town of Chamba was named after her.
Brajeshwari Devi – Temple Nearby the Laxmi Narayan Temple is the Brajreshwari Devi temple, dedicated to Goddess Durga.
Rangmahal – The Rangmahal or the Old Palace is one of the most visited places of Himachal Pradesh. It also has the Himachal Emporium, from where the travellers can buy handicraft items.
Chowgan Chowgan – is the grassy promenade at the heart of the town and is the focus for local festivals.
