Places Around Kodaikanal Hill Station

Kurinji Andavar Temple – Lord Muruga is the presiding deity of the temple, who is assumed to be the God of hills. Tourists and Devotees are bestowed with the views of Palani hills and Vaigai dam. In the month of May, the celebration of summer festival is also one of the reasons visitors crowd to the temple.

Kodai Lake – Here boating is allowed, most of the distances around is measured with respect to it.

Bear Shola Falls – Just 2 Km away from the Kodai Lake, the place is a real beauty, particularly during the monsoons when the fall becomes strengthened with the rains.

Bryant Park – This Park is named after the British officer who is credited with the idea of its creation- Glenn Bryant, the botanical park is just a short distance away from the Kodai Lake visited mostly in summers. This park is full of the flower, ornamental plants and greenery.

Pillar Rocks – The straight rocks of granite look like pillars and thus being referred to as Pillar Rocks. The place is fabulous for a panoramic view at a height of 400 m.

Shenbaganur Museum – If monuments of art and crafts are a much appreciated ‘something’ of life, this shenbaganur museum is a part of Sacred Heart College of Kodaikanal has to be visited. Rare birds and flowers are added to the list of reasons to visit this museum. Moreover, it is also referred by the name Flora and Fauna Museum.

Madurai – Madurai city is only 40 Km away from Kodaikanal and people often see it before. It is known to be located on the banks of River Vaigai, it is honoured as a temple town for the presence of Meenakshi Sundareswara temple.
